MARITIME EDUCATION MELODIC CIRCLE
A.     CONSTITUTION 

 

Article I           Name and Origin

Sec. 1             Name

This organization is known as the Nautical Melodic Circle of Capitol University.  This is an academic, social, and a religious organization, composed mostly of male members.

Sec. 2             Origin

This was organized by the College of Nautical Studies of Capitol University in cooperation with the Nautical Science Student Council (NSSC) School Year 1993-1994.

 

Article II           Objectives



1.)   To help the whole CU community in propagating its mission in the society.

2.)   To help develop the talents of each member through singing and playing musical instruments.

3.)   To assist the academic and social activities of the College of Maritime Education and serves as choir in the religious activity of the Campus Ministry.

4.)   To help the youth understand the exact meaning of being a student and to strengthen their faith in God.

5.)   To be able to developed personality where it recognized the strength of its members as a tool and to develop “Total Person” as well as the whole community.
 6.)  It motivates the youth mostly in participating various student activities socially, academically, and spiritually. 


Article III          General Membership



Sec. 1            Qualifications 

1.)   Must be a bonafide CU BSMT/Nautical student.

2.)   Must show personal interest in joining the organization.

3.)   He must posses a good moral character.

4.)   He should pass the audition in which he is required to prepare a song for its membership, and /or can play musical instrument.

5.)   Welling to contribute any amount as a sort of membership fee specified by the organization.

Sec. 2             Membership for the Core Group

1.)   A Core group shall composed of 12 NMC members in this manner:  ( 3 –tenor 1; 3 –tenor 2 ; 3 –bass 1; 3 –bass 2 )

2.)   He must be willing to be trained and give full attention during core group meetings and practices. He shall also train the members of the choir and to participate actively in any school activities.
3.)   He must be interested in music and singing.

Sec. 3             Membership for the Choir


1.)   He must be willing to be trained and give full attention during core group meetings and practices. He shall also train the members of the choir and to participate actively in any school activities.

Sec. 4             Membership for the Alphard Regulus

1.)   Alphard Regulus are NMC members who are much talented in playing musical instrument like keyboard, guitar, and drums but can also sing and will serve as choir.

2.)   He must be willing to be trained and give full attention during group meetings and practices. He shall also train the members to actively participate actively in any school activities and functions.

3.)   He must be interested in music, singing and playing musical instrument.

 

Article IV         Officers

Sec. 1             The officers of this organization shall be the president, two vice-presidents (internal and external), secretary and assistant secretary, treasurer and assistant treasurer, auditor and P.R.O.

Sec. 2             The officers shall assume office the following day, which they have been inducted and will hold office for a term of one (1) year. After their term lapse, they will be on acting position until the next set of officers is inducted.

 

Article V         Advisorship

Sec. 1             There must be at least one (1) adviser from among the faculty of the College of Nautical Studies who will serve as moderator.

Sec. 2             The head of the Campus Ministry shall automatically serves as the Spiritual Directress of the organization.

 

Article VI         Amendments

Sec. 1             This constitution shall be amended by 2/3 votes of the members present of any regular meeting provided that notice of the proposed amendments shall have submitted in writings to all members.

Sec. 2             This constitution may be amended only if there is a better and relevant need of its members arise in the pursuance of its objectives to meet the present demand of the community.
